      <image:caption>The next question we get is when do you know a child needs to be adjusted? Just like an adult, the joints of the spine are palpated looking for areas where motion is lacking. You as a parent may notice your child getting sick or being overly fussy. This is a good indication that they need to get in to be seen. When the spine is sharing movement properly, the nerve signals can move at optimum speeds and the immune response is much quicker. This is important to not only prevent sickness, but also prevent injury. Just like in an adult, when the spine is not moving properly, areas will begin to move more and take on more stress. This will increase the risk for injury in that area. This is especially important in the developing child or even athlete for preventing repetitive motion injuries like throwing or kicking a ball.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Team - Shirley Cruzado - Shirley Cruzado has been with Movement Spine and Sport since June of 2023. She plays a vital role with the clinic as our Lead Front Desk. She will be able to help you with pretty much anything clinic related and she loves to help! Shirley Cruzado grew up in the wonderful city of Miami, Florida. One of her loves is children. She has worked with children her whole life. Her mother owns a preschool down in Florida and she spent many days working at the preschool helping kids learn and grow. After about 14 years in the same career, working in Early Childhood Education, Shirley wanted to try something new! So about 3 years ago she moved to Charlotte. She is now on a new journey with her life and career! She loves Charlotte and loves the people she has gotten to know! Shirley has a wonderful boyfriend currently. She really enjoys soccer and hanging out with friends. Shirley tries to stay as active as she can and enjoys the Charlotte weather.</image:title>

      <image:title>Our Team - Julia Berube - Julia Berube joined the Movement Spine and Sport team in August 2024. A native of Maine, Julia developed a passion for athletics early on, excelling in soccer and track. She continued her track career at the collegiate level while pursuing her education at the University of New Hampshire, where she earned a degree in Sport Management with a minor in Communication. Julia brings a strong interest in marketing and photography, particularly in crafting social media content, to her role at Movement Spine and Sport. Outside of work, she is an active participant in pickleball, golf, and soccer. Having relocated to Charlotte in June, Julia enjoys exploring her new surroundings alongside her boyfriend. In her personal life, Julia enjoys spending time outdoors, whether it's soaking up the sun and wake surfing at the lake, relaxing at the beach, or engaging in activities like reading, hiking, yoga, and weightlifting. She also values her close-knit family, including her older sister, who is both a teacher and a math tutor.</image:title>

      <image:caption>Before going on to chiropractic college, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), along with the coveted Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential awarded by the National Strength and Conditioning Association in 2019. Prior to relocating to Charlotte and joining Movement Spine and Sport in November of 2024, Dr. Ryan owned and operated Evolved Chiropractic &amp; Rehab in his hometown of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, where he successfully helped dozens of athletes and active adults overcome pain and injuries through a combination of hands-on therapeutic techniques and customized exercise prescriptions designed to restore proper movement patterns and reduce the risk of future recurrence. More recently, he has become certified in dry needling through the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy (AAMT) and begun incorporating these protocols into several of his treatment plans. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Ryan has been involved in competitive powerlifting for nearly a decade and possesses extensive knowledge in the fields of human biomechanics, physiology, and nutrition. The integration of his academic background, first hand experiences as a strength athlete, and unwavering passion for helping others are what allow him to best understand and serve his patients.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Team - Madison Moates - Madison, she likes to go by Madi, joined the Movement Spine and Sport team in November 2025. She is currently a student at Queens University of Charlotte, majoring in Pre-Medical Psychology with minors in Biochemistry and Biomedical Ethics. Her long-term goal is to attend medical school to become a Psychiatrist. Madi has been interested in the healthcare field from a young age and is excited to gain hands-on clinical experience while working with our team. A long-time Charlotte resident, Madi frequently travels between Charlotte and New Orleans to visit family and friends. After a long day, Madi is greeted by her partner in crime—her cat, Artimus.  His cheerful welcome instantly brightens her mood, and the two often unwind together while she studies or relaxes at home. Artimus’s playful personality and loyal companionship are a big part of Madi’s everyday life, making him one of her favorite fun facts to share when getting to know her.</image:title>
